Nothing preordained Elisabeth of Wittelsbach, known as “Sissi”, to become Empress of Austria at the age of seventeen. It was, in fact, despite herself that the young Bavarian duchess, who had always been somewhat rebellious and untamed, was courted by the Emperor of Austria, one of Europe’s most powerful men, whom she finally accepted to marry. Attempting by all means to get away from the Imperial Court, this Hungarian queen of legendary beauty will carry the weight of the Crown of the Habsburgs throughout her adult life. Sissi does not adapt well to the strict etiquette of the imperial life, and the several moments she spends away from her husband are difficult. A romantic liaison with an enemy count will serve as a rare source of comfort for the empress. An unhappy sovereign, Sissi is nevertheless idolized by her people and becomes the main unifying actor of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Alone at the head of a kingdom and hounded by her admirers, she will die a tragic death at the hands of a fanatic.

In the first few pages we are treated to several errors, first baroness of Walden is wrong the governess of the children of duke maximising was named baroness Walden no of. Then we have Sis I being born with " A tiny teeth" And duke Max GRINDED his teeth. Finally in a blatant anachronism we have success Ludovika referring to her husband as "my man".
I'll keep on reading just to ferret out more errors, since its pretty obvious this was never looked at by a proof reader let alone an editor.

SISSI THE LAST EMPRESS edition by Danny Saunders Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I love Sissi. Amazing book. Just wish it to be more detailed in certain moments of her life. I wonder why there are no more movies about her!
I enjoyed the book very much. Had a hard time putting it down, ready it in a day and a half.
Tee age writing
Grammatical errors rare to the most careless users of the language. Perhaps a fairly accurate outline of the history and the rest made up with minimal imagination. Words and expressions that belong to the most casual aspects of today's language usage, not to the period in which this story takes place.
I didn't realize this was self-published when I paid nearly $12.00 for the book and there's no way to return it. It does not compare with "The Accidental Empress".
This is definitely a fictionalized version of history. If you like the sweet movies of the same name from the 1950s, then this is for you, but it is definitely not about the real, very formal Austro-Hungarian royal court, one of the most rigid royal courts in Europe.
I quit! I rarely stop in the middle of reading a book but the errors are so egregious as to make this annoying to read. Not only is it poorly edited, but it is poorly researched. The Empress Elizabeth was never called the Queen of Bohemia and this is just one of the glaring errors. There are far better written, more interesting, and less far fetched books on her than this one!
